Friends.....hmm!

Walking to my estate gate on a Wednesday morning. It was going to rain and i didn't have my umbrella, thought of going back home but it was going to be a busy day. In my panicky state, a 2008 Honda civic parked in front of me. I was going to walk past it when the dude wound down and asked if i needed a ride...."hell yea" i said in my mind. I hopped in, said 'hello, thank you so much' and started looking out the window.

It was really quiet and i was deep in my thoughts when he decided to break the silence. My name is Seun he said, i work with MTN. You? I answered and we kicked off a converstaion. We talked, made some jokes, laughed....we connected. He dropped me off at work and yes we exchanged numbers.

He started calling me everyday from our first encounter, least time spent on the phone was 25mins....we talked for hours. Then we decided to see again. He came towards my house then we took a stroll around my estate just chatting on and on.

Oh! forgot to mention he's married and has a 5 year old son. Sucker made me like him first before letting out that detail about himself. Anyways, its not like i'm goona sleep with the dude, we can be friends and friends we were until that beautiful morning i got a call from some chick.....she didnt say her name but she stated loud and clear she was his wife. Hi Mrs. Idowu i said calmly, i didnt need to fret, i wasn't guilty of anything. "I have your shoes but i want to give it to you in person". WTF!!! I said ok and nothing further. Apparently, i had forgotten my shoes in his car the previous day.

I called him immediately with this development, i didn't want any wahala. He said authoritatively it couldnt be his wife....oh well! sort it out, i don't give a hoot if it's your maid.

She called back to apologize. She was going to give him my shoes for onward delivery to me. She saw the shoes and got jealous. She was his girlfriend. Shuuu, Panadol for another woman's headache, what would his wife have done then? Bathe me with hot oil?.......better i keep my distance, i smell serious trouble and i did. I don't want sand in my ijebu garri.

Seun and I are still cool but a word for the wise 'run while you still have your skin'. That i have done.
